When you have taught and published your butt off as I have done, you do expect a school to sell a job to you. I am not giving you the details only bc I know what 'negotiation power' means. Hey, Mr./Ms. 911, why be a jackass about this? Some of us are now incapable of reading anything other than the (very abbreviated) latest posts that appear on the homepage -- how is that not an issue to bring to the attention of the blog's administrator?
I went on 3 on-campus this yr. Landed no job (though still waiting for 1 response). Have one book under contract with major press. Why is that the more qualified I become --articles, 1 post-doc position, VAP-- the less chances of a job I seem to have? I would truly appreciate to know that. I'd be very lucky this yr if I can renew my VAP contract, or else I am looking for an adjunct position.
